For the Miles Fan Club

Went to the zoo a couple of weeks ago. Considered feeding Miles to the alligators....

We're still frequently out jogging in the mornings before it's too hot. Miles keeps getting bigger and I keep running slower--pretty sure there is a correlation.

Still taking regular trips to the park, too. There is a playground about half way through our usual jogging route so a lot the time we stop so Miles can stretch his legs and play for a while. Not really effective for running, but Miles won't sit contently in the stroller for nearly as long as he used to before he became mobile.

Miles is my in-house food critic. It always surprises me the things that he will eat or won't. For example, he refuses to eat long thin pasta like spaghetti noodles, but loves bite sized noodles like macaroni or shells. Cheese and fruit are still his favorite foods, but he also is good at eating vegetables and amazingly enough loves shrimp and fish.

As you can tell he gave the chocolate chip cookies a "two thumbs up" review.

You've probably already heard about his obsession with trucks. His favorite books are all about trucks, he begs to watch you-tube videos of trucks, and he can spend the whole afternoon out digging with his trucks. We stopped on our walk the watch some trucks working the other day and he was absolutely furious with me when eventually had to leave and walk home.

Last weekend my mom, Cami, and Sean came over for Sunday dinner. Cami made amazing home-made ice-cream and Miles would have licked the bowl clean if he could have fit his face inside it (I considered doing it to, I'll admit). I wish you could see better that there is a layer of dirt all over his face from digging in the dirt, followed by the thick layer of ice-cream.  He literally left a ring in the bathtub that night.

Miles loves to read. We try to read every day, and go to the library frequently. I have to admit part of it is for my own self interest--if we don't go I end up reading the same truck books day after day. At least we can change them out and read about a dump truck or crane instead of an excavator or mac truck if we go get new books! Of course (like all parents think of their children) Benjamin and I think that Miles is brilliant. He already knows most of his colors, and can almost count to 10!

These were taken just today. The fact that it was 94 degrees out did not prevent Miles from wanting to play in the back yard. He played in the sprinklers, splashed in the pool, and of course at the end dug in the dirt. And yes, that is dirt on even his hat.
