Snow, snow, snow!

We had some really great snowstorms this winter. For the first one we got something like 16 inches in 36 hours. This is our back picnic table after the first big storm.

The boys and I of course had to go out and play in it. It was wonderful to find that Tommy had outgrown the toddler stage in which he would nearly immediately fall in the snow and then cry as it got in his face. Both boys had a ton of fun just in our back yard. I, however, being 7 1/2 months pregnant and unable to snap my snow pants around my huge belly and harnessing the stamina of a beached whale, had a bit harder of a time feeling like spending two hours knocking all the icicles off the roof with a broom for them and pulling Tommy back to standing after he inevitable fell over every five feet. But I did it, for the record : ) Because you just can't sit inside with epic snow like this!

Miles' icicle weapons  (because everything in our house must be played with as a weapon according to these boys)

Don't be fooled by Tommy's steady appearance. He'll be on his butt again in 10 seconds!

It stayed nice and cold and a few weeks later Grandma and Aunt Amy were kind enough to take the boys sledding. I watched from the sidelines and had a good laugh. These boys are lucky to have such awesome grandmas and aunts!

Grandma (had a hard time getting one of her where she wasn't a blur going so fast!
She's still got it, folks!)
