This handsome boy turned 5 in July! He continues to be willful and mischievous, but his wonderful sense of humor often makes me laugh in spite of my frustration with his continued testing of rules and boundaries. He is extremely inquisitive and often asks me questions that I don't know answers to. He also likes to question why we do things a certain way and the reasons for rules, and I often have to remind myself that this is his brain hard at work, and not just his attempt to drive me insane. He wants to be a monster truck driver, a scientist, or an engineer when he grows up. He has a wonderful imagination and loves to play pretend, usually involving him and Tommy being animals or dinosaurs and me being a scientist studying them. He also absolutely loves to play outside and has really mastered climbing the giant cherry tree in our backyard. Legos are his favorite toy and he is still enamored with all things dinosaur. I am so glad this boy made me a mom, HIS mom, 5 years ago! We love him so much!
He wanted the same theme, food, and activities as last year for both his friend and family parties.

Lots of fun presents. My favorite gift to him was a CD player, so he can now listen on his own to the many kids CDs we've been given over the years (a recent favorite is Power Rangers. He's never even seen the show but loves the 90s cheesy rock tunes from the soundtrack. Can't wait to listen to that on repeat now)
Benjamin's favorite gift to him was a ukulele. Benjamin is hoping to instill his love of guitar in him. Luckily Miles was pretty excited. Hopefully we'll get him in lessons in another year or two.
